Not all HEROES wear capes.

Last month marked what would have been my grandad’s 100th birthday. He passed away nearly 5 years ago but his legacy continues through our family.

As I reflect on his incredible life, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude. He was not only my hero but also the reason I chose to follow in his footsteps in the construction industry.

Looking at this cherished photo of him in his overalls and shirt and tie, I’m reminded of the intelligence and dedication he exhibited every day to assist me to become the best version of myself. Back in his time, the pride in one’s work environment was palpable, and the craftsmanship was second to none. It’s disheartening to see how the landscape has changed over the years, with the caliber of training and commitment to quality seemingly diminished.

As I navigate my own career, I recognize the importance of leadership and mentorship. Having a role model like my grandad instilled in me the values of hard work and excellence. As a visionary and leader of my team, I strive to be that guiding force for others, nurturing new talent and facilitating their growth within our industry.

Let’s commit ourselves to fostering a culture of learning and development in construction—one that honors the legacy of those who paved the way before us. Together, we can elevate our standards and ensure a brighter future for the next generation of construction professionals. 💪🏗️
